SUPPORT FLOOD VICTIMS
Flooding across the Eastern, Northeastern and Southern parts of Ethiopia has claimed the lives of more than 700 people and displaced tens of thousands of others from their residential quarters, service rendering institutions and other properties including their domestic animals.
Activities are underway by the Federal and Regional governments as well as the Defense Force, with a view to rescuing the people surrounded by the flood. Besides the food, the Federal Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Agency has been distributing rolls of plastic sheets, blankets, plastic tray, cook wares and other utensils for the victims.
Federal and Regional governments, government and private employees, non-governmental and private organizations and various civil society organizations continue making donations of financial and material assistance in support of flood victims in those areas.
Expressing its condolences and deepest sympathy to the affected families, the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Tokyo calls upon all Ethiopians and foreign nationals to support the on-going relief and rehabilitation efforts.
